For the latest news regarding Yaringa Boat Hire, please click the link below.

Yaringa Boat Hire has a fleet of Marine Board-approved boats for up to six people, fully equipped with safety gear. Fitted with weather protective canopies, boats are available for hire at very reasonable rates seven days a week all year round. No boat licence is needed; just a driver’s licence, appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and, preferably, a mobile phone. Yaringa staff will fully explain safety procedures and provide handling instructions and maps.  Wearing of Personal Floatation Devices (life jackets) when the vessel is underway is advisable but not compulsory for hire boats at this stage. Children under 12 years of age will be fitted with a PFD jacket without charge and must wear it at all times in the boat.

Should you like to try the rich fishing grounds of Western Port you can purchase, or hire, fishing gear from Yaringa Bait and Tackle and head out to the estuary entrance for whiting, salmon and flathead. For the more adventurous, proceed to the open waters around Eagle Rock for snapper, gummies or elephants (of the fish variety!). Before departing on your fishing trip, check with John or Maliney, owners of Yaringa Chandlery, on what and where fish are biting, which bait to use and Victorian bag limits.

Alternatively, you can enjoy the Yaringa Marine Park. Viewing the scenic vegetation and wild life from the water rivals the famous mangrove estuaries of the Daintree, and you don’t have to travel to Far North Queensland! Known locally as the Yaringa Everglades, you can cruise peacefully past swans, ibis, cormorants, pelicans, terns and Pacific gulls – without giving crocodiles a thought!
